For many visitors the first sight of Yosemite Valley is the Tunnel View stop overlooking it.
In this image, El Capitan dominates on the left, with Half Dome in the distant centered, and Bridalveil Fall on the right.
The original human inhabitants of Yosemite Valley, the Ahwahneechee believed Bridalveil Fall was home to a vengeful spirit named Pohono, who guarded the entrance to the Valley, and those leaving must not look directly into the waterfall lest they be cursed.
On a more positive note, the Ahwahneechee also believed inhaling the mist of Bridalveil would improve one's chances of marriage.

This valley and the mountains do not combined with the most famous views of California in my mind. Impressive strong nature, very interesting landscape for hiking ;))
Thanks for another presentation of American nature!

Yosemite clearly offers amazing views.
The most beautiful is that huge waterfall which appears to originate in the middle of the rocks. The white mass of water looks even more wonderful through that surrounding darker part of the rock.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Ray, Fantastic view, beautiful valley and the waterfall. When I was there there was only very narrow stream of Bridalveil, not visible from far away. Very nice colours.

great lanscape well framed, The composition is interesting with the deatial of the waterfall on the right side, maybe not enough sharpness.

What a view, and what a welcome this must make for visitors to the park. The mountains and forest are of course incredibly impressive, but the inclusion of the waterfall gives such an incredible sense of scale to what we see here. As well as its appearance, you have composed the waterfall perfectly in the scene creating a true Nat Geo quality image. Beautiful.
