Another view just after sunrise at the Westlake Cliff House. The cool air is trapped down there in Triunfo Canyon every morning this time of year. The white fog burns out a bit at the expense of other elements of the photo.

Wow! Very nice composition, with this hot line from the left (river), the fog, and the naturals secondary sharp elements. Very well done.

Very nice. I like the contrast of grey cloud in the bottom half of the photo and the white cloud towards the top left. Nice subdued colours.

beautiful scenery, very nice framing. this is a difficult shot because of the light and the white fog but i think you did a good job. tfs!

This is a picture that I would like to have in my folio. It look like a painting. The use of branch for the foreground and the line of the white fog add the sense of depth to this picture. I would like to give you double smile.

You probaly used the tree on the left as a shade for the camera and it was a smart move. Such scenes always make impression on me. Post more from the region. Tom

I love it. Being in the mountains with the clouds below you is often spectacular, but unfortunately it doesn't happen very often!
You capture this very well, with an interesting blend of background/foreground interest. Well done

Beautiful shot! The leaking of light from the left provides nice contrasting shadow on the trees. The mountains seem to engulf the fog like riverwater. If you could bring out the redder shades in the foreground fog I would have no complaints whatsoever.

I have seen your three photos from the Westlake Cliff House, and this is in my opinion, the best one. Its clearity, the blue tones, the composition having include the green pine on the right side... and obviusly the sunlight reflection on the fog, is very good obtained, but I don't like the handrail on the bottom left part, and the small flowers, I would tried to get a shot like the two sunsets, in the left side, just the landscape, without any object. Do you have anyone like this?
PD: Just one thing...I suppose the other two shots are sunsets and not sunrises, because if this one is the sunrise (the sun is at your back), the other ones, the red light (tipical when the sun goes to sleep) and the sun in front of you... just oposite as it is in this one. Isn't it? :-)
After all what I have said, I think it is a very beautiful view. You are right... sometimes the beauty is behind us and we don't appreciate it.

the depth you have achieved here is incredible. plus the combination of fog and lighting makes for a spectacular condition. the colors are also spot-on. well done!

Spectacular photo, David. I like the way those trees are slightly covered by the fog at the bottom of the pic. Impressive skyline and the colours are also great.

Wonderful scene! Dark silhouettes of trees in the fog are superb! And the great white of the far fog is bewitching... Great!

I actually like the effect of the burn out on the fog in the background as it draws your eye in and the foreground breaks in before it becomes distracting.I love the hills in the background and the oil painting colours

Beautiful river of fog among mountains hardly outstanding from it. Very nice contrast between different parts of the image.
