Photographer's Note

One of my favorite hiking trails anywhere is the Rock Creek Trail with a path to saunter on parallel to a creek flowing from majestic Sierra Nevada mountains over 13,000 feet above sea level. In summer there is a wealth of wildflowers and total escape from civilization.

The trail meanders for miles to multiple lakes - Mack, Marsh, Heart, Box, Long, Gem and Chickenfoot Lake. And all the lakes are stocked annually with trout, fishing season opening the last Saturday in April and closing November 15th. And the fishing is rated good to excellent.

The start of the Trail is located by driving 20 miles east from Tom's Place off Highway 395 to the end of the road at the Rock Creek Lodge.
