Photographer’s Note

The area around Tahoe's General Creek is known as Sugar Pine named after the majestic Sugar Pine trees.
On the Tahoe Lake shore is the Ehrman Mansion, where financier Isaias W. Hellman built his summer home/mansion in 1903. The wealthy life style at Pine Lodge was accessible to Hellman's friends and associates. Upon his death the ownership passed to his daughter Florence Hellman Ehrman, and became known as the Ehrman lodge, until 1965 when it was donated to the State of California for use as a State Park.

In the summer open guided tours, and in the winter the grounds and the area surrounding General Creek are excellent for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

Located along Highway 89 on Lake Tahoe's western shore, and south of Tahoe City. A wilderness area protected by the State and open to the public.
