The last bastion of civilization before entering the Death Valley. If the picture is worth one thousand words it speaks for itself.
Shoshore is not small. It is unbelievably small. There are 3 formal buildings on the intersection of two "major" roads: the restaurant, post office and museum/shop/visitor centre. Nevertheless, the sign on a map is huge.
The reason for having there "the" visitor centre is unknown. The old lady with a very strong Scottish accent tried to inform us about upcoming attractions. None of her info, including directions, occurred to be correct and - thanks God - we did not use any. Well, think about this, there ONLY are two roads there... |
