Photographer’s Note
Since I appear to be in the mood to post some graphical images, I pulled out this closeup of a very modern and very large sailboat moored at the edge of a private marina in Sausalito I visited with another image entitled Anchor Chain. Both images were taken the last day of August.
I was struck by the elegant simplicity of the design, from the incredibly small opening in the hull for the mooring lines to the way the bow is shaped to accommodate the distinctive anchor. I image the sailboat was fifty or sixty feet long and every detail was as carefully crafted. But all I was really interested in at that moment was this detail at the front with the sharp angle of the bow juxtaposed with the gentle curve of the mooring line. The Sausalito harbor and shore of Tiburon are visible beyond the boat. Enjoy!

So smooth and alamost sterile, this bow. The diagonals are very nice, and graphic.
The crop is excellent, the place in the frame of all the details, is very fine.
Good frame, with that thin black line.
Missed your pictures in Mongolia ;-)

A well seen and well composed detail. You really fill out the frame here with the hole and the anchor in the top corners and a natural cropping point at the cross of rope and bow at the bottom.
You could clone some bright spots on the beach in the back with forest pattern to make a slight last improvement.

Excellentcomposition, Curtis. I like the two crossing diagonal lines, and the textures of the rope and the anchorage. ThE simplicity is the secret here, very well captured.

Hi Curtis, you portrayed some very crafty industrial maritime design here. Love the very strong lines formed by metal & rope and the contrast between the industrial & natural textures. The frame is a fine touch. Great job!
