I like the way you make the portrait.
Only by this hand we can see it is a woman, she is an artist.
And the composition is very clever because it takes the shape of a frame. Subtle shot.

Yes, a kind of dolce vita going down ther in Marin County - I know the place (warmer than Frisco too. Excellent shot as if from another era - 50s? I like the abstract, cold composition until one notices the human hand in the corner. Clever. Subtle. Cheers, Francis

I like it! When I look at this picture, it makes me feel like I'm walking around some canvases and easels, looking for the artist. The close and far objects make you feel like you're there.

Is it modern art or just a background behind her?

Hi Animesh! How are you? Nice to see you back...

I am enchanted by the composition here... it's almost cubist. The one hand reaching for the chalk among all the canvases tells the whole story, too, with so little.

My one nitpick... did you run NeatImage on this? It looks oddly blobby in bits!

P.S. You'd hate it here these days -- unrelenting sunshine ;)...

I swore I had you as one of my favorites but I guess not. I missed a bunch of these....
This one is great. So simple and yet genial at the same time. Great composition and lighting. Very nicely seen! great b&w. JP

Great shot Animesh, lines converging towards the hand simply but effectively guide the eye and narrow DOF makes this effect more impressive.
I really like this, directly in my favorites!
