Photographer’s Note
A juvenile sea gull from the pier in Santa Cruz. The world-famous boardwalk, featured in such classic movies as The Lost Boys, is just to the left, out of view of the camera. It's closed in winter, however, and this was actually taken Christmas day, so there was almost no one around. This guy just sat and watched me as I took his photo; he had no intention of moving out of the shade of the lamp post for some reason...
