A nice winter day in Coastal California! This was taken just around the corner from the Surfing Museum, now housed in the Mark Abbott Memorial Lighthouse, near Steamers Lane. There are quite a few websites you can visit for up-to-date surfing information. There's also a live webcam of this site on the City of Santa Cruz's homepage! The day we were there must have been pretty good surfing, as there were a number of photographers taking pictures of surfers; I assume they were probably from the various magazines devoted to the sport, and the waves were very active that day!
