Photographer’s Note

The Natural Bridges state beach in Northern California, with its famous natural bridge, is an excellent vantage point for viewing shore birds, migrating whales, and seals and otters playing offshore.
When I was talking a picture of the natural bridges a low flying plane appeared from a near by airfield.

Hi, Nick. Beautifully done. It looks like a seascape painting. The curves of the water around the rock and the rock itself in the foreground is great to lead the eye on out. POV, depth, color, that cloudy sky? All excellent. And that's a GREAT catch on that plane. Super shot!! Good wishes, Shelly

Hi Nick, absolutely stunning decisive moment that you got here. Actually there are to flyers in the air in this composition. One pretty obvious but slightly to the right and below I can spot also a flying seagull. You might have overdone on the sharpness. The horizon is not continous but like small spaced out sawteeth. However, that is a minor issue. The strong part of ths shot is THE decisive moment.

Hi, Nick. Well composed picture and good colors. It's a nice idea to catch the plane in your picture, but I would prefer your picture without it. Maybe you should try to remove the plane.

Hello Nick,
Nice picture. the assembling of the natural bridge and the plane make an interesting mix. I like the colours but there is a problem I think with compression specially when looking at the bridge border and the plane.

I like how the arched rock and the rock in the foreground balance each other here, although I don't think this would have had the same impact without that plane. For once the intrusion of man into nature works well and has rewarded you with a good image.
What are those things on top of the rock? Nesting seabirds? At this resolution it's hard to make out.
