It never rains in southern California!

This is Santa Barbara and the Pacific Ocean. It is a reminder of summer to come, although the photo was taken near the end of October last year.

This is a nicely curved beach where the people in the fg and the long line of trees help to give good depth. There's a generally pleasant atmosphere here in the sunny weather. The local people may wish for some rain in order to have fewer bushfires.
I can detect a slight noisiness in the sky, due perhaps to the strong sharpening.

Lovely hazy beach image with the distant mountains barely visble.
The row of lush green palms provide a brilliant contrast to the smoky ble sky.

Hello Gunnar,
Nice capture of this lovely beach though there don't seem many people about. The people in the foreground help create depth, which is accentuated by the long curve of the shoreline. The line of palm trees add graphical interest standing out well against the hazy mountain backdrop.

I would have been in Canada, when this was taken. Good repetition of the palm trees, with the flattened perspective from the zoom, adding apparent height, to the bg mountains. Tfs!

on voit de suite que tu as quitté la Suède ici. Une vue qui me rappelle beaucoup les plages des Bahamas ou des Caraïbes. On échangerait volontiers quelques jours de grisaille belge contre du soleil californien.

I don't know if it never rains,but,by seing such beautiful light and colours,we could think that!I like the lines of green palmtress in this splendid blue!The mist creates a very beautiful effect,giving a nice softness to the photo!Splendid!

Hello Gunnar, thank you for taking the time to comment. It never rains in California, but girl, don't they warn ya?It pours, man, it pours.
In Australia I think it was made famous by the Mamas & the Papas, can't be sure, this is the reason I stopped at this one. Lovely beach scene, with the people in FG, nice curve & line of trees, good depth & colour. They always seem to have a problem over there with fires like us, I wonder if the temp. is very similar?

unbelievable! it really never rains there? how do people live there, in that case?
IMHO, the perspective view is well chosen (and I especially like - I don't know why! - that distant area on the right, which is all in the bluish haze). Generally, a very pleasant scene... I think it conveys the local atmosphere very well. Good composition and natural rich colours!
