Photographer’s Note
This is another photo taken during the celebration of completion of the Great Race of 2006 in which 87 vintage cars traveled from Philadelphia to San Rafael, California. These cars belong to local residents who were invited to the event. Many visitors came on Saturday to enjoy the celebration while appreciating these fine old vehichle. Once again I'm playing with depth of field by focusing on the hubcap of the car at the right. The car in the distance is a classic hot rod. Some enterprising person took an old Ford coupe and modified it with a newer engine, and a spectacular paint job. It doubtless is a very fast car!
For those who may be interested in seeing more about the event you can check this portfolio of photos. Enjoy.

Hi Curtis,
Nice shot! The hubcap is magnificent, and I like the sight of the other car in the back as well!

Hi Curtis
As a cars fan, I have to admit this picture touched my heart, and even more if the cars are old. But I´ve got to say, the picture in composition, is perfect, brilliant, I like a lot the way you chose to create it.
My best congratulations, in other way, great light too.
Cheers

Cool shot, Curtis - I love the framing on this one, not only for the way in which the foreground and background car are ideally offset against each other, but also how the lines and arrows painted on the asphalt add this graphical interest to the shot. Nice 'bling' factor with all that polished chrome and metal. Also a great tech with the shallow DOF that the fast lens gave you, nice work.

Hi Curtis,
great use of shallow (but not too low) DoF. Reflections on the wheel are so nice. The blurred red car is also not too un-focused. A clever compo, my friend.

Hi Curtis - a great addition to the series. Again, the bokeh effect & focus on a particular detail on the near car is very effective. I can certainly see that you're having fun with those L lenses! The colour & clarity of these images is something else.

Very interesting perspective! The low DOF creates an unusual effect for this kind of subject, as the out-of-focus background subject stands out solely on color and contrast; I like it.

I can't say I'm much of a car person, Curtis, but I love this shot. The angle is just perfect, as is the bokeh. The graphism of the road markings works well and the whole thing is just so... well, shiny:) Excellent.
