Photographer’s Note
I've mentioned before how attractive the Italian Street Painting Festival is for photographers, so clearly, no presentation of this fine event would be complete without some attention paid to those folks carrying cameras. As we all know, cameras come in a variety of forms and in the hands of creative men and women can be used many different ways. That being said, I found it a bit strange to see this woman staring up in the air as she focused her camera at a scene lying on the pavement at her feet. I've no doubt she knew what she was doing but I'd love to see the photo she captured.
As workshops to this image I'll include two other photographers working at the festival. The first is a lovely man with a bald head who intently moved from place to place as he took repeated photos. He was no doubt an amateur much like the rest of us. The second is a "staff photographer" who lugged his own step ladder as well as a backpack filled with very expensive camera gear. I found him on the job both days I attended. On the second day he had an assistant carrying his ladder and helping to clear the field so he could get his photos. I'd love to see his work as well.
Enjoy everyone! Tomorrow I'll post a photo of the lead artist who created the largest, most elaborate scene.

Hi Curtis,
Strange indeed... but that photo is technically verygood, fine DOF with nice bokeh, great colors and light, good framing..
Good job

Hi Curtis, Yeah, it seems a bit strange to me too, and although the camera does not look like it, it seems she has a swivelled LCD display. And we know that Asian women are not really tall, so probably pointing down couldn't give her what she wanted.
But it's a nice photo with beautiful bright but also beautiful dark tones in it. And shadows not too deep.
I'm not sure about the head of the gentleman pushed in the corner and in the shade, but knowing your careful cropping (and the number of pixels), it will have been your intention.

Curtis,
Looks like She was looking at her LCD & because of the Sunlight she was trying to shade with her hands!...
Nicely caught! I really like the colour, light & the DOF.. Except for the Face on the left...
Cheers,
prem.

You just showed us three beautiful and interesting pictures. I enjoyed all of it! This one shows the woman straining at the small LCD of her camera. A pose now very familiar with digital camera users. A well focused and good DOF. Thank you for sharing.

Her hands are what catches my attention, I think a crop of only her hands would work really well too, on TL that is ofcourse ;o) they are so gently holding the camera and the detail is really good. There is something very calming about this scene, caught in the middle of chaos, somehow you froze an interesting moment.
How many times did you manage to get the word Canon into your workshops? In the war between Nikon and Canon here on Te I'm with the Nikon crew despite my camera, ik didn't choose it ;o)

What a crisp image! Sharp, wonderfully saturated color, and beautiful bokeh.

Hi Curtis - 2 things in this that I really like, the light which is perfect & the bokeh effect in the background. Overall the colours are excellent & it does appear to be an unusal angle that the subject is employing to look at her camera!
I'd agree with the earlier comment on cropping out the man on the left, although he's not overly distracting. Interesting workshop postings too.
