Reflected Glory Photo

Photographer’s Note

This weekend there was a two-day celebration in downtown San Rafael called the Italian Street Painting Festival sponsored by Youth in Arts. Artists take to the street with their chalk and dazzle visitors with stunning creations. Over the next few days I'll share a few photos taken on the street, beginning with this closeup of one of the artists taking a break on her cell phone. Look closely in her sunglasses and you'll see reflected some of the artwork on the pavement behind me. Needless to say I was surrounded with folks with cameras clicking away. It was great fun for one and all. Enjoy!

Ah, good evening Curtis,what a surprise to see a posting of you! Quite a close crop which makes it an intimate one, especially while she's having her cell phone attached to her head. As if we can listen about what she has to say. I already saw the refelction, which is nice.
So I guess you are doing quite some street photography now. Do you have those new lenses you went for lately?

Hi Curtis - a deceptive image, what appears to be a candid portrait turns out to be something with more depth & hidden details. A very clear, sharp shot - that 5D & L lens really give a great image!

Hi Curtis,
She's even smudged a bit of paint on her face!
The reflection in her sunglasses is superb!
I agree with Peter: the discovery of more interesting detail than expected is quite a pleasant surprise.

I can see the world through your eyes--eye glasses ;) Wonderful image, I like the reflection on her glasses a lot. Great details. Fine candid snapshot.
