[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the mausoleum of Henry Huntington and his wife Arabella, designed by John Russell Pope. It is located at the Huntington Library in San Marino, California. The Mausoleum is made of Colorado Yule marble, and its circular peristyle has four bas-relief sculptures with literary quotes alluding to the four seasons. Surrounded by orange groves, the Mausoleum was completed in 1929, two years after Henry’s death and five years after Arabella died.

Hello Cheryl,

Alright this is what I think about this picture. The tree on the left is too strong and detract attention from the beautiful building. One option would be to move a little to the right to create more space between the tree and the mausoleun, thus making the building more prominent. The contrast of light and shadows is very good and the saturation of colours make the image look natural. I am not too familiar with American History therefore I don't know who Mr Huntington is. Maybe I should do some research to find out more about him. Overall the image is pretty. Thanks Cheryl.

Hi Cheryl - I like this shot. It is very clear, has a great point of view, the positioning of the tree balances nicely the building. You did not over contrast the image and colors are realistic. Thanks for visiting my site and making comment on my photos. It helps to interact as we share between us and grow from the insights from others.
