Photographer’s Note
Sometimes a ball players bad luck is a sports photographer's good luck. After shooting some pretty average stuff at the San Jose Giant's game vs. the Bakersfield Blaze, I decided to put the 2x converter on the 400mm 2.8 lens for some very tight action. This batter did not hit the ball well and as a result his bat shattered in his hands leaving nothing but the knob.
I cropped this shot to a square composition but, other than that, this is full frame and not drastically cropped in.
