the GG bridge along highway 101 north, links san francisco with marin county. it was considered unbuildable before its completion in 1937 because of the foggy, misty and cloudy weather (similar to what is seen in this photo), 60mph winds and strong ocean currents sweeping thru a deep canyon below. eleven men lost their lives during the construction. this 1.2-mile wonder took more than four years to build. the color of the bridge known as international orange was chosen because it blends well with it's natural surroundings. the best way to see the bridge is to walk accross it which takes an hour roundtrip, and yes dress warmly whatever time of the year when walking the bridge. welcome to the city by the bay! Hi Benedict, the composition is good, the soft light and the clouds makes this pic uniquely picturesque! GANDA!

Good morning Benedict -
The Golden Gate - what a bridge! Your use of late afternoon light soften with the rolling fog really enhances this Bay Area icon. Wonderful exposure. As to the composition - I don't find anything wrong with it but I am trying to look to left to see if I can see "The City." Do you try a composition with less of Baker Beach and more of the city through the cables of the bridge? I think this would make a bit more stunning image. Just my opinion though.
Well done, keep shooting, and thanks for sharing

Nice Shoot! When I visited this place I didn't bring my digital camera the only brought is my video cam. during the time I would say the weather and the sky are become cooperative because there is no fog and the sky is so clear.

Bravo !!

very nice scenario ... the golden grass in the fg of the pic ( you could have saturated more and add some additional light ) and the bridge in the clouds ! i would have chosen stronger colours but its still beautiful !

A nice capture of also one of the most photographs landmarks in the world. I like the different shades that you have captured. Low hanging clouds, sunlight blocked on certain parts etc. The exposure certainly did come out pretty good. Pity that there are no ships sailing below the bridge. That would have added nicely to the composition. TFS Andre
