this pair of converse chuck taylor's has been hanging from the telephone wires outside my bedroom window ever since i moved into this apartment last winter. my little brother insists that sneakers strung over phone/power lines are a symbol of gang activity, but the part of the inner sunset i live in (just a few blocks ucsf), is hardly the bastion of gang activity. i just find it amusing that these sneakers have remained out there for so long--i see them every morning when i wake up!

i shot the picture right through my bedroom blinds (that's why there are white stripes running across the photo).
