The view from Alcatraz!
Actually, this is the view from a window in one of the administrative buildings, but still a reminder of how bitter-sweet such a view would have been to the inmates.

Hello Rod,
Welcome to TE. This is a very clever shot, conveying both a sense of the site and architecture of Alcatraz and the trapped feeling of the former inmates. I like the view of Mt Tam and Angel Island in the background. The latter, and the sky, are a bit grainy --because of the scan and perhaps dirty windows? but otherwise the colors and clarity are good. It may be worth selectively cleaning up the top right quarter.
