The bird family Phalacrocoracidae or the cormorants /ˈkɔrmərənts/ is represented by some 40 species of cormorants and shags. Several different classifications of the family have been proposed recently, and the number of genera is disputed. (From Wikipedia)

How typical of a Cormorant to immitate yet another one of his kind, even thousand miles apart on our planet, Eleu.
It has a detecting-ring, so can be followed for years, and a beautiful wing-span to flaunt with.
We have a Cormorants population that every autumn come and sit on the same area along the Yarkon river. Hope to see them shortly.
Fine taken photo, like it a lot.

This bird shows it best side for the photographer while spreading its wings her. A very good picture with pleasant background colours.

As Ryszard says, Eleu, it looks like a Coat of Arms! Well-spotted, and I'm sure the opportunity to shoot this came and went in an instant. Close inspection suggests the autofocus liked the foreground twig a little better than the Cormorant -- but I confess I blew it up pretty large before that became noticeable!
Well done! Thanks for sharing!

Spread out wings and head on a profile - we could hardly get a better view of this bird. Its lack of beautiful colors is compensated for by its perfect position on the branch with the nice green background.

These cormorant enjoy of the sun, I see that these cormorant has two rings, already localised bird.
Lovely picture with open wings, also the blurred background gives the bird more attention.
Excellent composition, lovely presentation too, TFS.

We have plentu of cormorants in the Loire River but they are always very far from my camera even with a 300 mm lens
You were lucky to be so close to him.
Good decisive moment
