Photographer's Note
While the Europeans were huddled along their ocean coastlines, and the Roman Empire was decimated in 500 A.D., the Polynesians were exploring thousands of miles of the Pacific Ocean in boats like these Tonga vessels. Polynesia is the area between the islands of Hawaii, New Zealand, and Easter Island; over 70 million square miles of Pacific Ocean.
Tonga is special for it was the only Polynesian peoples who were never colonized by the Europeans. Tonga came to the America's Cup Races at San Diego, for pre race sailing.

Hello Ray,
Like this colorful shot with red and white sails catching the attention. I have been to San diego but not here. Nice to see the Polynesian sailors going for a race. The quality is great with nice colors.
