Safe or Out? Photo

Photographer’s Note

The shortstop, second baseman and base runner are all waiting for the "safe" or "out" call from the umpire in a girls' softball game. The runner was called "safe" and her team went on to win the game.

It was necessary to shoot through the chain link fence backstop but with a 2.8 lens the only evidence is seen in the bright spots from sun reflecting off of parked cars.

Nice expressions captured in this all American sports shot - i like it. Nicely composed too.

You seem to have caught the moment. The expression on their faces is just perfect.

Great colours and contrast. Lovely bokeh.

I notice a slightly yellowish vertical band to the right of the blond. Why is that?
