Photographer’s Note
Last Friday I visited a shop in downtown San Anselmo to see if I could get an email address to send a copy of an image I'd taken awhile back that I posted here under the name Window Shopping. The owner was behind the counter and was delighted to share her home email address. Then she mentioned her husband was considering hiring a photographer to take a photo of her business and asked whether I'd be interested. I said it might be worth considering and that we could discuss it after I sent her the photo.
As you can imagine, I took the opportunity to walk across the street to the small park in front of Town Hall and took a few photos. I noticed the woman walking along the sidewalk and thought it might be nice to have a pedestrian in front of the shop. Just as I raised my camera a group of youngsters arrived on the scene. Suddenly this character was speeding along the sidewalk. He struck this rather dramatic pose as he reached the older woman who appears a bit cautious in her gait. The humorous part of this brief meeting of the generations occurred a couple of seconds later when this young man fell off his skateboard and landed on the sidewalk. (See attached workshop!)
I added a second workshop in the form of a triptych that shows the complete sequence. I'd forgotten that I captured the whole event. Enjoy!
As you see the older woman was unperturbed by it all. Oh... the impetuousness of youth! Of course, this woman seemed unimpressed by the antics of this young man.

Hahahahaha...
Great shot Curtis. The attached workshop is superb.
I'm adding this one to my favorites, and also to the Skate or Die theme where coincidentally I have another skateboard wipeout shot.
Great daily life shot...
Well done!

Yo man! When you're gonna capture streetscenes like this, I can use street language. Although this isn't the language used by this group.
I suspect the guy turned towards her and loudly calling: BOOOH!
Nice caught moment, Curtis, you really freezed him, A bit light, but what can you expect a that time of day. Also in the workshops you nicely freezed him, so that it almost looks like a staged shot. Is that your car?
Sweet dreams.

Ahah, what a clown. This seems to come out directly from a comic book. Mr Cool flying high. His position is hilarious. Have a nice week Curtis.

LOL! That's very funny and clever - he appears to be trying so hard to look cool and yet ends up making a complete idiot of himself! ;)
Still, he does end up with a smile on his face....!
Good work Curtis, the original image is fun, the tryptich showing us the full sequence of events is great too!

Bonjour Curtis,
Très amusante scène de rue. Attention à la chute......hahaha......super le workshop.
Etre là au bon moment, pour immortaliser un instant comique, c'est là que l'on voit l'artiste.
Bravo
Amicalement
