Photographer's Note
During Union Pacific Railroad's 150th Anniversary celebration in Old Sacramento, their last steam locomotive # 844 was on display and still running.
From 1944, No. 844 was a huge steam loco high speed passenger engine, pulling trains like the Overland Limited, Los Angeles Limited, Portland Rose, and Challenger. When diesel locomotives took over, No. 844 served freight transportation in Nebraska from 1957 to 1959, and escaped being scrapped to serve as Union Pacific's 'ambassador of goodwill'.

Nice piece of machinery. I would have given it a little more "breathing room" around the edges, but it is still a very nice picture.

This is a big black beauty. Wow, I had no idea of the size and scale of this baby, but the people standing next to it give us a perfect idea. Nice angle, good light and sharpness. Well done!
Keep chugging along!
