Photographer's Note
Old Sacramento's "Gold Rush Days" characters - vaquero, gunfighters, barkeep and a wayward mountain man. Part of an street front play acting group celebrating historical California.
Sacramento was the crossroads of the Gold Rush days, with the Sacramento River providing boat transportation to San Francisco. And the nearby gold fields in the Sierra Nevada foothills were connected here. Sacramento would become the HQ of the Central Pacific Railroad, building the transcontinental railroad from the West.

Hi, Ray,
I remember when I read the numerous novels of O'Henry and Jack London about these times. A lot of romantic and sad stories. Good presentation of the street show, well seen.
Regards from Russia!

Hehehhe love the title of your photo and what a motley crew you've managed to get in the one frame. I like people shots, although taking them terrifies me, so well done on this one.
Best regards
Lisa
