Photographer’s Note
"So far as I can see, a procession (parade) has value in but two ways,
as a show and as a symbol, its minor function being to delight the eye,
its major one to compel thought, exalt the spirit, stir the heart, and inflame the imagination".
-- Mark Twain
On Memorial weekend, Old Sacramento kicks off the holiday with a parade on Friday at lunch time. It is an eclectic bunch with comical marching bands, jazz musicians, horse drawn carriages and ancient automobiles carrying period dress revelers getting ready for the 3 day Jazz Jubilee, Sacramento's biggest annual event.
