Photographer’s Note
The San Francisco Bay Trail is an amazing project which plans to build a trail that surrounds countours the whole bay. The end project will be over 400 miles of trails. Currently it is about 20 percent complete. I am very lucky to live where witha short walk I can reach a beautiful part of the bay trai.
This photo was taken in the redwood city portion of the bay trail, near the port of Redwood City. The corporate office for the original Napster was accross the street from where I stood taking this photo. We'd walked around a bit and this woman pratically being towed by her dogs appeared. I took two shots before they pulled her away. She spoke to them in a very animated manner. Accross the bay is Alameda county (Union city I think).
Cropped, layers, color adjusted, contrast brightness, levels.

I had to laugh when I opened the larger version, in the thumbnail it looked like someone walking a polar bear to me. I like the three different levels of color, all separated very distinctly by water. An interesting photo with informative note. Well done and thanks for the laugh.

400 MILES of trails! And with a view of the bay. American just loved to walk don't they. Back east, you have the Appalachian Trail. I liked this composition Cris; three layers of colors you have here. Distant bluish/hazy grey background, middle brown and the green. And Lassie just can't wait.

Funny view... They really are pulling the woman along. The type of dog is perfect for this shot as the hair all seems to flow back indicating a speedy movement down the path. It has a real sleek feel. This trail idea is really ambitious. Here in Detroit we are trying to create parks and trails that cover about four miles of the river front and it's taking forever to implement. And I have my doubts about the ability for them to complete it ever or then maintain it all. But it would be nice to have and see people using it like this woman with her dogs.

Oh - great shot - from the thumbnail did I believe to see an icebear ;-) Lovely greyhounds indeed (or am I wrong) - I like the pose and mix of different colours of the landscape - thanks for sharing.

Lucky you, living where you do. I spent a good part of a summer many moons ago in the Bay Area and it truly is a beautiful corner of the world. This photo has captured a lot of colour, some movement and several interesting layers through clever use of the zoom I believe. Only a pity that their feet are hidden from view.

Great composition great colors and great subject!! Three stripes of ground, three characters: the lady and two dogs! She is dressed in vivid colors...and I like a lot the white dog.
Funny! I have two big dogs like these! (not the same breed, they are white mastiff) And I should look like her when i walk with them.

Hi Cristina. As an avid walker and promoter of trail systems in North America, I was fascinated by your note. This is a dynamic, colorful shot, and the mix of browns and greens nicely contrasts with the dogs and walker hues. Good shadows and also well composed with the different layers of interest - grass, water, field, water and hillside. Well captured and presented.
