In yesterday's post of Santa Cruz Island's Scorpion Harbor, the cliff in the background may be accessed by a hiking trail. This view of kayakers was from the top of the trail. The giant kelp is a valuable resource for marine life.
A group kayak tour may be prearranged when reserving a boat trip to the Island. In addition to the water life, the numerous cliff side sea caves are inviting.

Learn something new everyday on TE, Ray.
"Kelp" is a word did not have on my vocabulary.
Impressive view down from the cliff edge's, stunning blue sea, "decorated" by the pink kayaks and one uin green.
Superbly scaled by the boats and kayakers, fine clear view of the kelp.

Sympa, cette vue sur ces kayaks dont les couleurs tranchent avec le bleu de la mer et sur ces alguesqui dessinent de jolis courbes. J'aurai peut être juste cadré un peu plus sérré sur les kayaks.

I'm sure from their angle this is a calm blue ocean, presenting excitement adventure, but from up here it looks like they are inches away from an attack from an alien life form! The seaweed, as valuable as it is, is very unnerving and sways like monstrous tentacles.
Perhaps its an inbuilt fear for me, I used to hate wading through this on the beaches as a kid.
Great combination of these two worlds in one Ray, very nice shot.
all the best

Hello Ray, i was sure that from the top of the hill the view would be beautiful And it really is. Fantastic colour of water and the red kayaks look great. Impressive giant kelp. I wouldn't mind to do some kayaking here, specially that all the people are well equipped with the life jackets.
I looked at your website, good idea. I would also like to have mine, i have so many photos and maybe travelogue to share, but I do not know how to do it.
Regards (not too warm) Malgo

I expect a great white to come out of those kelp beds, I think the sharks like the color red or was that the toros. Great overhead pov with good details. Well done, tfs.

Ray, I spent some time up there, long time ago in the early 80's...but I always remember the beauty of the sea and the many opportunities to enjoy different sports..kayaking there is a great adventure..
thanks for sharing!!

Good result from this pov, original view and interesting colors contrast, impressive underwater aspect on your photo.

The one green and five red kayaks present a good color contrast on the blue ocean. However, i would not like to be entangled in the seaweed.

Another excellent POV to get the best of the views available. The water is simply amazing, pure magic and makes me want to dive in for a swim. I like the contrast of the seaweed and the coloured kayaks. They're splayed beautifully.
Warmest wishes, thanks for sharing

Another very nice and interesting shot about these giant kelps. They are incredibly long and the kayakers looks so little...really special photo.
l like the composition and beautiful colours of your capture.
