Photographer’s Note

I love taking pictures of people getting Tats. Its such a decisive moment in their life. Imagine from this point on they will have these markings for the rest of their life. Emotionally its amazing because for some people getting a tat is a huge high because the noise puts them in a trance. For others the pain helps them remember why they are getting it. Laser removal is really not guaranteed unless you go to somebody who knows what they are doing. This highly specialized tat artist showed me a book of different styles that she does and even has a section on tat removal and it was amazing. i will post another picture with her name once i can find it. I hope Ya'll like the picture

I like this image an the sentiment behind it. There are few moments in life, as you say, that are quite as decisive as getting a tattoo.

There are just two small things that, for me, would have made the image perfect. Cropped slightly less close, I think the impact of the tattoo artist would have been helped. I also thing it would have been nice to have had her more in focus - or, in fact, to have had the hand/needle in sharp focus to, once again, increase the impact of the moment.

Having said that, who am I to judge? Overall, a lovely photograph.
