Photographer’s Note
The City of Oceanside is the northernmost coastal city of San Diego County. Oceanside Pier is the longest wooden pier on the western United States coastline.
On either side of the pier are miles of sandy beaches filled with surfers paddling toward the evening sun. Families stroll along the beach while couples snuggle up to stay warm in the chilly breeze.
Just another evening in the paradise that is Southern California.

Hello Seb,
You chose a very nice angle along the pier poles.
This leads us to the end of the pier and the small tower.
Nice pink colours to the sky, excellent of composition.
Sharpness and clarity are superb.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,
John.

hi seb
I definitely like your POV in this shot ... it provides such good perspective. The low light hasn't prevented you from getting rich colours and great sharpness.

Hi Seb,
Nice and graphic perspective. There is a beautiful rhythm. The contrast of the dark wood and this pinkish light is very successful also.
Congratulations!

Hi Seb,
In this line of wooden pile just gives the viewer a strong sense of depth. Given the fact it is the longest wooden pier just makes your angle right on the spot. Looking as if these piles are close to each other and makes it all too near yet it diminishes from afar as you see the scale at the end point.
As for the composition, carefully placed 'dark' subject aginst a light background will normally push it backward.
Have great one ;)

Hi Seb
very nice catch. I really like it.
It seems a bit dark on the left but it really has caught the mood of the evening.
Beautiful color of the sky.

Hi Seb,
Well done - interesting POV with the lower end of that zoom - compresses everything and you might not guess how really long that pier is. I have fished from there on occasion when I was in the Navy stationed in San Diego. Nice warm colors from the sunset, excellent sharpness and amazing DOF from that lens.
Have a great day!
