Photographer’s Note

This was taken last fall. As with most of that trip I marveled at the clear air and the cleanliness of it all.

Unfortunately for us, everything was closed the day fter thanksgiving so we did not do any tasting but the country side was beautiful and is on our list to return to in the not to distant future.

So this is the place where many good wines are produced? Excellent shot of this area. The clarity of the iage and good colours add to a pleasant view. Your angle was effective to capture the rows of plants leading to the beautiful building in the background. Thanks Greg.

Thus, it is an image of the Californian vineyard. Excel sight of these vines of a perfect regularity. Pretty framing and beautiful colors.

I notice the architecture, I'm not an expert but it seems like Spanish influence to me!

Hi Greg,
This indeed has a crisp clear look, with alluring hues and tones. I like the symmetry presented by the rows, with the buildings nicely breaking up the frame and leading the eye to the more barren hills. I have visited Napa Valley a few times and found it difficult to capture the inspiring landscape. This shot is most appealing. Cheers.

When I saw this one, I thought to myself that you had already returned to States...
It's a wonderful view, very well composed and featuring beautiful Autumn colours. The resemblance of the landscape with much of the Iberian Peninsula is impressive - everything looks so familiar to me: architecture, vegetation, topography... I imagine how happy the Spaniards that came to that place centuries ago would feel for discovering such a familiar landscape so far away from home.

Hi Greg,
this is a shot I wanted to comment for quite sometime, so... I'll do it now.
One thing I particularly appreciate in your pictures is the fact they are meaningful and they all have atmosphere. In other words, they are not just a mere exercise, or attempted exercise in technicals, like many of the shots I see on TE. Which (the good ones) I may admire on one side, but they usually leave me a bit cold on the other.
This one perfectly renders Napa's atmosphere.
The colors are Napa's, outstanding POV to create great DOF, sharpness and contrast absolutely spot on.
Another excellent effort.
It brings back good memories too. I perfectly remember being drunk most of the time while in the area...
