Photographer’s Note

Known for vineyards, wineries, and the finest of wines anywhere, the Napa Valley of Northern California is a spectacular place to visit. The countryside in some parts is one vineyard after another. I especially liked the fields that were on hills or had some terrain undulations like this one. The day we visited here was sunny and warm so taking side roads and backroads was delightful.

I like the lines in this, with the rows of vines being so perfect and neat, and that enables us to follow the contour of the land as the rows go over the hills. Nice pattern, and great colours too. I hope you got to sample some of the wine!

Very good point of view to shot these vineyard. You got a very graphic picture. I like also the contrast between gold grasses, vineyards and deep blue sky.

Deep and intense colors just what i like. Those lines from the vineyards make a wonderful composition, and the fact that they are moving to the hill and even further is really beautiful composed. A bit less sky would even make it stronger i think with all focus on the lines...

You are right there in the field and I can almost feel the grape leaves. This subject is always a favorite of mine and I try to find it in the cornfields and farms nearby but nothing compares to these grape fields. Nice line movement through the frame and fine details in the grasses.

Gerald I am instantly drawn to graphic images like this. Wonderful setting a so very nicely captured viewpoint. Excellent work indeed and well worth framing into a huge wall display for many to enjoy. Good work!

Hi Gerald, a shot from a great angle-point of view, with a very clever perspective.
The lightness,colors, contrast and sharpness are excellent.
It has a great depth too and an effect of 3D image.

Wonderful uniform lines created by the beautiful cultivated vines as their brilliant green contrast so nicely with the golden rolling fields. The deep blue sky makes the perfect backdrop for this beautiful countrside landscape.
