Photographer’s Note

The orange colored poppy is the state flower of California. In a good year, which is decided by the mother nature, California desert is covered with carpets of wildflowers at spring time. The spiny Joshua tree is native to southwestern states of California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada. Confined mostly to the Mojave Desert between 400-1,800 m (2,000-6,000 feet). Most photographers prefer early morning or late afternoon to take pictures. But this is not working for the poppy flowers, which need strong sun light to open up the patals. I shot at low angle, below a small slope, to avoid much of the reflected light from the flower patals and zoomed in to make it more packed.
