This photo was taken at the "Big Rock Trail" trail head in Lucas Valley Open Space Preserve in Marin County and leads to Big Rock Ridge. The summit of Big Rock Ridge at 1825 feet is the second highest point in Marin County after Mount Tamalpais. I was not able to find any information about the origins of the big rock.
The reposted photo was adjusted for mid tones and auto correct was applied.

Nice rock, really big ;). Good shot, great clarity and quality. In my opinion frame could be a bit better because now rock is almost exactly in the center of the picture. Doesn`t matter good picture. Best regards! Andrzej

Interesting rock---wonder where it came from. Your reposted image much better in terms of color. I like the streaks of clouds going through the sky.

Good shot. I love these big rocks. I've seen them strewn throughout Marin and Sonoma counties and even here in Alameda County (in Berkeley and on the hills above). I am sure that they are of some volcanic origin. They seem to have been sitting on these hillsides for eernity.
Thanks for sharing this one.
