Photographer’s Note
The lupine grown in profusion in this shot looking upstream. These are the rapids next to our campsite shown here. This lower area is called the meadow; it just opened the day before the shot. The trail had been closed to protect a sandpiper's nest near the trail. As I walked back up the overgrown trail, I meet a little boy of about five all rigged up with a big hat and huge sunglasses. Clutching a fishing pole, he exclaimed eagerly, "Yesterday I cought a fish that was this big;" measuring a distance of about 40 cm (18"). Tomorrow I'll post a downstream shot that shows a bit if the canyon walls.
I mentioned that this area was once a part of Yosemite; this map shows how close the are is to Yosemite, click on the Map link to see detail of the specific area. From maximum closeness, click out six times to see June Lake Loop to the north of the red arrow. The road to the north of that is Tioga Pass, a road into the Tuolemne Meadows area of Yosemite.

This is a very nice composition with the river on the right and bottom. The rule of the thirds is very well applied and the colours are superb. Well done.

Once again a superb shot Pat with those lovely flowers..I love how you've caught the bend of the river & the river water with it's bluish tone contrasts well with the green

Hi Patricia,
Nice landscape, very refreshing. May be a wee bit oversharpened.
Well Done anyway.

It looks idyllic Pat; the colour of the lupines in the sun add a wonderful touch to the greens. I'm guessing this needed high compression as parts of the shot have an odd look, although I can't detect specifically any pixellation.

Bom dia Pat
A typical shot from you, showing very well the features of nature around you. Well done.
Again, I see that summer in the Californian sierras seems very enjoyable and pleasant.

Dear Pat, now it's my time to say WOW. You choose so well your POV and framing. The shadows and the light are simply beautiful. The deep purple flowers in the left corner gives so much athmosphere. The small creek with it's flow from the right uooer corner flowing down and passin gin front of you is magnificent. Great shot!

Hello Pat,
I guess this place is in a quite high altitude, since the lupins carry flowers this late in the year..?
A well composed image, where the stream nicely comes into the frame...
Strong colours and good details!

Hi Patricia. It's good how you have the focal point as the tree in the center yet we are treated to the stream and small cascade. The more I look at this the more beautiful things I see hidden.

Hi Pat,
Lovely campsite with the lupine just below the rapids. Lush green that frames the prestine creek. Love the lupines they do photograph so well.

Hi Pat,
Your closeup scenics are fabulous. This is just gorgeous and I can't imagine how beautiful this photo is in its full-res glory! The boy sounds like he is getting off to a good start with his fish stories. He needs some more time to polish his craft of embellishing his fish stories. It is a fine art. My wife divides the size of my fish (stories) by about 1/2. I told her that I caught a 22" Brown two summers ago and she didn't believe me, even though it was the truth. I put the magnificent fish back into the stream. I caught it on a No. 2 gold Mepps spinner in a deep undercut bank.
