Photographer’s Note
With winds hitting 100 kph a winter storm was on its way to Mammoth Lakes just after Christmas. With a windchill at minus 10C my fingers froze taking this photo. The storm lasted a full week and left 2.5 meters of snow.

Very descriptive photo, I like the exposure you have selected and the low angle you chose to expose the foreground as it leads you to believe that either the storm has already been there or is approaching again.
Well done....

Hi,
There's something about the tones here that makes this look really old, like a 50 year old slide or something, maybe the CCD does something funny at -10C. You captured the contrast between the clear blue sky and the storm beautifully here. The sky is really dramatic with the clouds building up behind the mountains and the sun shining through them.
regards,
Simon

Fantastic image - you can really feel the tension in the sky - watch that frozen finger business! I got my fingers stuck to an OM2N once just as a blizzard kicked up in open country.
best wishes Kev
