Convict Lake was named after a jail break from Carson City, Nevada in 1871. Here the convicts were recaptured after a shootout with a posse.
Today the Lake is popular with trout fishermen and a fine place to 'saunter' into the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Convict Lake was highlighted in the opening scene of How the West Was Won with James Stewart as a fur trapper paddling a canoe across its azure waters. It was also used in scenes from the 1998 film Star Trek Insurrection.

Great landscape with a perfect presentation with a vertical format, interesting result with the colors contrast, well made.

You have again captured such a beautiful sense of scale in this scene, the trees look tiny in comparison to the mountain. Beautiful range of colors going through from the lower yellow to upper mists, and again a lake reflection of the yellow which looks like a Money painting!
All the best

The golden reflection is a beautiful contrast to the grey fog in the top of the pictue.

Vertical capture work well to present this imposing landscape with high mountains at the back, the sunlit vegetation and reflets giving golden color and contrast
I have your YT channel in my list

While the tops of the mountains are hidden behind the clouds, there's a beautiful light that makes the splendid yellow autumn tones stand out against the darker slope.
These yellow tones are also well reflected in the lake.
Best regards, Paul

hello Ray, Not the pleasant name for such a beautiful place. Beautiful autumn forest and reflections. I would like to see james Stewart paddling a canoe here. I like him very much when I was young :).
With a dinner cooked and big bunch of flowers I would love Valentine's Day :).
Warm regrads MAlgo

è sempre un piacere osservare i tuoi paesaggi maestosi ed inquadrati sempre in maniera straordinaria.
In questo ho modo di osservare un angolo della California del quale ignoravo del tutto l'esistenza.
Ottimi colori, composizione e nitidezza.
Ciao e buona domenica

good choice of vertical format to show the height and majesty of this mountain. The top of it is still covered by clouds which adds some dramatic atmosphere to otherwise lovely and peaceful scene. The yellow trees especially make the image interesting which effect is doubled by the reflection on the water.
Very good framing and nice colors.
Have a nice day! TFS

Love this the colours are stunning, the view beautiful great Pov, the low cloud seems surreal and gives this image a great mood.
