great B&W picture with an perfect eyecatcher.

This is definitly a great picture.
Using b&w for the whole picture, except the butterfly, as a great effect.
It's like if the butterfly was getting out of the picture, like if it was in 3D.

Decolouring the less important elements of a picture can be very effective. You show it here.
Another possibility is to give colour to butterfly and flower. Grey background. I'm eager to know the effect of that choice.

I am a great fan of partial desaturation although there are lots of crtics on TE who disapprove of such work. Although you havent posted the original, my guess is that this looks much better. Well Done!

Très bonne idée d'avoir mis en évidence le papillon en lui laissant la couleur !
Très belle image et beau cadre !

I cannot get over this picture at all. It is a very eye catching picture. The contrasting color between the butterfly and the flower made this picture terrific. The framing is professional. This picture deserves to be in nature magazine.

I love this type of shot where there's one splash of colour and I like this one very much. I think sometimes though that it's not appreciated as much as it should be on TE. Well done. I did something similar as a WS to my own image, at least I hope you will appreciate it and my next posting will be in a similar vein.

I love these kinda "stop-and-take-a-look-at-our-beautiful-world-from-another-perspective" photos! The details are sharp and great and the framing and BW/color mix is just right!
