Photographer’s Note

This is the Walt Disney Concert Hall, located in Los Angeles, California, designed by architect Frank Gehry. The reason it is named after Walt Disney is that his widow, Lillian Disney, donated $50 million dollars to get the project started. It is in no other way connected to Disney so you won't see Mickey Mouse when you visit the concert hall. There are no straight walls in this building. It's design resembles sails or what the architect called wrappers instead of strait walls. The building has a very fluid feel to it. The skin of the building is made from sheets of stainless steel that have been brushed to reduce glare. Inside, the concert hall is covered in Douglas Fir. The acoustics are said to be excellent.

The concert hall is open to the public. You can walk right in and spend some time there eating, shopping, or listening to music. There is also a garden that is accessible to the public.

I did nothing to this image. The image does not look as good here as it does on my computer, due to the size of the file.
