"Mono Lake and its surrounding watershed encompass a unique region in California.
Sagebrush, Jeffrey pines, volcanoes, tufa towers, gulls, grebes, brine shrimp, alkali flies, freshwater streams, alkaline waters, comprise an unlikely world at the transition between the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Great Basin Desert. Pronghorn antelope graze in the Bodie Hills while yellow-bellied Marmots bask in the High Sierra summer sun. Great Basin spadefoot toads fill the evening air with an endless chorus of croaking while Nighthawks hunt for insects in the fading twilight. Trillions of brine shrimp eat and mate beneath the briny waters of Mono Lake as Wilson's Phalaropes feast on alkali flies in preparation for their non-stop flight to South America. Embracing 14 different ecological zones, over 1,000 plant species, and roughly 400 recorded vertebrate species within its watershed. Mono Lake and its surrounding basin encompass one of California's richest natural areas."

Great photo of these interesting limestone formations in Mono lake. The image is a nice accompaniment for your picturesque note.

una foto strsordinaria sia per la nitidezza con la quale hai ripreso il soggetto, sia per i colori che diventano insieme al soggetto i veri protagonisti della composizione.
Ciao e buona giornata

Fantastic earth formation, with the rocks seem as "growing" from the lake upwards, in magnificent shapes carved by water.
From a distance, the "island" on mid-lake have an imaginary Chateau view, with typical turrets... my imagination works O/T today.
Fine taken shot, allocated pic. space superbly.

If you had posted that this was the surface of Venus, I would have asked no questions, it looks so otherworldly! These rock formations are incredible, and the wispy sky is a perfect compliment, its soft gentle clouds offsetting the jagged appearance of the earth bound landscape. Very nicely done.

You're capturing well this landscape by a good angle and ecellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the lake between the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Great Basin Desert. It's also impressive in strange two rock on this lake and transparent/calm lake. And, the mountain range in the distance draws out a good atmosphere as well as the streaming clouds in blue sky.

These are very interesting rock formations. They are pretty to look at, but I am not sure I would want to lean against one. This is a high quality photo showing the intricate textures of these formations.

I keep thinking about making it to Mono Lake learning more about it and of course take some pictures too, maybe someday. Good use of the rock for perspective and it also provide depth. Good lighting and nice details. Well done, tfs.

Aw wow, this kind of seascape is among my favourite type of subject. I love the texture you achieved in the rocks, the brilliant clouds formations and the limpid water. Also, the way you composed the shot, with the curve of the land leading the eye into the frame and towards the horizon.
Thanks for sharing, a top shot
