Photographer’s Note
Sequoias, sugar pines, ponderosa pines, I cannot really tell what these giants are. Looking at the bark I thought it must be sequoia, but John (jwmunro) mentioned there are no sequoias in Lake Tahoe (here in Sugar Pine State Park).
The almost phosphorescent moss growing on the trunks and branches of these giants makes them even more mysterious and beautiful.

Waht I beautiful photo and makes me miss sequoias (I was at the Sequoia National forest a short week ago). Sometimes it is difficult to photfraph these giants but you have done well. Your photo renders well the feeling of standing amongst these giants and feeling rather smallish and insignificant. Beautiful texture on the trunks and the bits of moss are great.

Salut Vincent

Hi Vincent.
Nice note to learn a little more of that trees. I like the vertical format to make them a bigger than they are.
Well done!

Hello Vincent
I'm sure it's very difficult to take photographs of these giants. You've done well here with the symmetry & show the magnitude as well. Like the moss on the bark of the tree. Very well handled exposure, considering the light would have been highly varied.

These nature's giants are so huge it is impossible to show the vastness. Your shot concentrates on the branches with the moss and the wonderful texture of the bark. The central section would make a good abstract image. Very difficult lighting conditions well handled.

bonsoir Vincent

Hi Vincent
The 3 dominant dark tree trunks are nicely framed & composed. Good repetition of upward verticals, & well managed lighting, with excellent sharpness. Tfs!

Bonjour Vincent -
I don't want to disagree with you about these trees but if this image was truly captured at Lake Tahoe then they are not Giant Sequoias as the giant trees are found only south of Yosemite NP. These trees are more than like Lodgepole Pine or Ponderosa Pine as they are the most common cone bearing tree in the Lake Tahoe Basin. It is very difficult to get a good image of the either the Giant Sequoia or the Lodgepole/Ponderosa due to their immense size. This is a nice attempt Vincent but it really likes definition or you have captured too much information. I think the best way to capture these trees is by getting in close and focusing attention on the details. I think there is a color shift in the tree on the left (w/moss) as the bark is turning a strange color of magenta - maybe too much shadows and highlights. I think this is a good attempt but not up to your standards.
Thank you for sharing.
John

Bonsoir Vincent
All those branches with moss are very interesting, but it is difficult to notice here the size of these giant trees (be them sequoias or ponderosa pines).
