Highway 395 rounds south to north parallel to the Eastern Sierra Mountains. An unusual environment of sagebrush desert in Owens Valley then the Sierra mountains rising to the east 11,000, 12,000 and 13,000 feet above sea level. The prevailing water clouds from the ocean traveling eastward drop most of their water content as they climb up the west slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Leaving little for Owens Valley.
Many moons ago I came her to tent camp on my honeymoon. Reckon it was a mistake because she divorced me within three years. Should have done the typical honeymoon in a Vegas hotel?

Hi Ray, lovely rays of light streaming down on the valley. Not much snow then just as now. The Tioga Road is already open and Mammoth is opening the mountain to mountain bikers on the 24th. You haven't been using your Canon 5D lately ? :(
Have a great day,

Ray, you made the right choice - camping beats Las Vegas any time.
Fortunately for me my wife loves camping.

A big sunny country plenty of old civilazation , like your name?
Great capture of the very atractive light ( and rays) of sun with the mountains at the back
Well done, cheers
