Universal CityWalk, Hollywood, LA, California.
I was taking a group of media students from my college in England to LA in 2000. We had just finished a day in the Universal Studios themepark, and were loitering for a few moments in the City Walk, so I took the opportunity to shoot off a few frames. From memory, this was taken without a tripod: I assume I must have rested the camera on a passing student!
Universal CityWalk is the name given to the entertainment and retail districts located adjacent to the theme park. It is a three-block entertainment, dining and shopping promenade. Options include more than 30 places to eat, a 19-screen movie theater featuring IMAX, seven night spots, indoor skydiving (what??) and more than 30 stores. I don't think Frozen Fusion survives to the present day, however. And I wouldn't have gone there if it weren't for the fact that we had a student group to show the "sights" to. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves!

Hi again Will
Well chosen detail among what must have been an abundance of neon sighs. Lovely vibrant colours that make that sliced fruit look juicy and yummy.
Using people as camera support rather than models in the image taking process - what an interesting idea! ;-)
Have a nice day

what is this? Super bright colours William - Oh! I see it is from your archives :-). It is a shot with a lot of impact and I love the idea of a personal human tripod.
Mind you this part of Universal Studios is a blast of the senses and this shot would not be the same in monochrome now would it? I was back there in 2009 and it is even more brash now than in 2000.
Regards - B.

Gee! only in America:)Amazing neon sign that can be seen from a long distance(and that is the aim) An excellent exposure with fantastic colors. This should be a perfect contribution to a neon sign book, well done!
Have a nice evening/

Neon signs are not as common nowadays as they used to be and what an impressive scanned image here. It's well observed taken with the blinding colours really leap out of the frame! turning the usual into unusual powerful art work. A very exquisite & most eye catching that stoodout in the gallery demanding a well deserved attention. Fab, tfs.
P/S; Tx to your positive input and i've enabled the 'post to workshop' over to you now. tx once again for your extra effort.

Well this is different to your monochromes! I love the vibrant neon colour and tight framing. This must be a scan I guess - excellent quality.
Kind Regards, Ann

The intensive colors of this neon made the scene so spectacularly! Like the achieved visual effect a lot. Well cropped and very well executed.
Have a nice weekend,

Attractive explosion of colours.
I never knew that students could be such excellent tripods. The result is anyway a spot on sharp image. Well done.

A very colourful, totally American photo. The neon colours, the gaudiness and "big"ness of it make the photo unmistakable. My OCS kicks in when I see "smoothies" made into "othies", but there's not much you could have done about that as the tight frame has worked well with the rest of the image.
Thanks for sharing
