The Academy Awards have long been one of my favorite ceremonies, honoring the motion picture industry, and not just actors.
I had a long time association with enjoying Hollywood, taking female dates to dinner and a new movie release at grandiose theaters like Graumann's Chinese, the Egyptian, Paramount, etc...
I even worked there one summer proctoring civil service exams at Hollywood High School for the City of Los Angeles.
If you can, check out the Awards tonight, they show us a glimpse of Hollywood in all its fascination....

I'm also a crazy fan of Oscar ceremony. Last night, Chinese-American director Ang Lee was a winner (Life Of Pi).

Even though I'm not a fan of the oscars themselves, I do like a good movie, and looking at thsi wall, i think i must have seen 90% of those that are on this wall. A great combination of characters, and the perfect day to post this!
All the best

A very timely and fun photo to celebrate the Oscars. Over here, we're a little disappointed that our Hugh didn't win with Les Mis, but what can you do. What did you think of Seth Macfarlane as host? I thought he was good. An excellent photo perfect for the theme.

It was a pleasure to watch the Academy Awards, and now to see the poster. Several of the images look familiar, and as the great German physicist Werner Heisenberg (Nobel, 1932) explained, "Never underestimate how much pleasure it gives a man to see what he already knows."
