Very nice POV, finding the beach just behind this nice vegetation, where the yellow flowers are great as a foreground. Even in cloudy day, the colours looks nice!

It is always nice to see wildflowers along windswept beaches in the spring. You've highlighted the flowers yet have also managed to highlight the ocean in the BG by placing it between to beach hills whose leading lines draw attention to it.

At the risk I revealing my nit-picking self, I believe the road you mention is California Route 1 which is a state highway not national.

The westernmost national highway in the United States is U.S. Route 101 which generally follows the coast from Mexico to Canada. In some places both roads share the same pavement and they might at this location. :)
