Photographer’s Note

This large mustard field is situated where there is no parking nearby, but I noticed the patterns of light on the green hills beyond and the dark, brooding clouds. I parked far away and walked back to the field with the idea of catching the patterns. I took several exposures before seeing this rainbow develop before my eyes. It lasted only 20 seconds or so before disappearing, so I got only one good shot of it. Sometimes you get lucky.

Wow, the result is just fantastic! Vivid yellow of the field, dark sky, and this bright part of the rainbow.
The photo is beautyfully framed, and the result is as if the rainbow is casting the light on the hill. Just great!!

Tom, welcome to TE and I think this is a fine shot. I love it when luck over rides skill in presenting such a scene yet you were already there so you earned it. I like the saturation levels and the contrast from dark to light. It seems a bit noisy in the reflection below the rainbow but it may have been raining right there, I can't tell. Anyway fine capture.

Wow, it is a wonderful photo. It looks like you got an instant reflector in the sky to illuminate the part of the ground you wanted to capture on picture. It was a good seize of the moment. Well done.

Un instant magique qu'il ne fallait pas rater. Il y a un peu de "bruit" dans l'image mais j'aime beaucoup les couleurs et la lumière que semble projeter l'arc-en-ciel sur les collines.

The colors are so strong,maybe a little bit too saturated,but the effect is stunning

lovely contrast between the lead-grey sky and the yellow fields...rainbow is sightiing as a precious jewel on teh sky

welcome on TE! Your image is a masterpiece, and it is a pleasant way to explore the earth! congratulations! BTW: some day you may update your equipment information in your account, that way you can show what lens, what camera, what aperture etc you used.
