Photographer’s Note
I am not a big fan of shopping. However, this is an award wining architecture, a pedestrian bridge connects two shopping complexes in South Coast Plaza, a big shopping mall in Southern California. The bridge is known as "Bridge of Gardens". This bridge is a design results of a collaboration between an architect company (Ellerbe Becket), a landscape architecture company (Anderson and Ray), and an environmental artist (Kathryn Gustafson).
The bridge is an interesting, and unique architectrue. This 600 foot (183 meters) long bridge is constructed of stainless and galvanized steel, with a partially covered canopy.
This photo provides a view of the walkway. In WS, I have posted a view from side and a view from the bottom of the same beige. Under the bridge is a parking lot. This bridge is very busy place during store open hours.
Costa Mesa is a city located in Orange County (OC). OC is located south of L.A. county.

Hi Wes,
Yes you are correct, this is an impressive piece of architectrue. Thank you for posting the WS, it help to get a complete idea of this bridge. For the main photo, good light and I like having the people in the shot because it helps to get an idea of perspective.
Have a good weekend.

Hi, Wes, cool shots. On balance I think you picked the right one for your main posting, but the one outside left is close. This really is superb architecture. It's so nice I'd feel like anything I bought in there was probably costing too much... A+ for compo my friend, the curves in the canopy, the shadows, the railings. See you,
Matt

Hi Wes. I like photos that have perspective, and this is an ideal subject in that ballpark. The curving overpass with its metal construction makes for a nice graphical piece, and the bending shape of the walkway is well emphasized by the play of shadows and light you got. The two WS photos are nice too, particularly the view from the bottom. Well done.

Interesting note and excellent details in your note. A pleasing way to join buildings. Shade, a breeze, maybe some sunshine on a cooler day. No streets to cross. Well composed shot of the architecural details.

Hi Wes! This is a great addition to the architecture category. I like all of the shapes that are created by the bridge. Too bad you didn't have a more helpful blue sky as that would have been icing on the cake! More good work from you to be sure. I feel the same way about my last southwest US post. I had been saving that shot as the 'finale'. But I am looking forward to the rest of the new shots since then. I think people will like my new subject matter, I hope at least!

Hi Wes,
The curving in the bridge give excellent depth and perspective, the game between shadow and light make the photograph extra attractive for look, also the gray colour tints maken the picture completely.
Thanks for comment on my 400th photograph.
Well weekend,
John.

a very interesting descripton of this bridge. I love the curve on it too. Seems some of the best architects work on mall designs. And to think that the expense is recovered soon after opening. This photo has a very nice exposure of light and dark sections of this bridge. Excellant work. If it were made in BC where I live it would be completely covered. We get alot of rain here.
