Photographer’s Note
A brick building seen any cities around the world. Why this building is so special!?
I have a facination for brick buildings and this building, part of downtown Chico's history. Address 809 Salem Street. Once occupied by people now lay abandoned and neglected. Soon it will be torn down to make away for new more modern houses or office building and with that we will loose history. I hope that day does not come any time soon.

Pranab,
bricks seem very beautiful, with interesting form and pretty colours. i'm not sure, but if you could take a frame with whole of tree, maybe was better. anyway this is very good. tnx

Hi Pranab,
Very interesting shot! I like the brick wall, it's unusual in this modern time. This photo is a good way to preserve history.

Pranab,
The bricks and the tree in the front go well with each other.Beautiful clarity.Seems to be a sunny day.
Apart from the door, this doesn;t look like an old abandoned building at all.
Good Capture - Vikram

Hi Pranab.
Nice idea but I dislike in the tree. It is not contrasted with the wall and produces a "bad" effect. In my opinion of course.
Anyway, without this little thing, I like it.

Hi Pranab, the facade looks very nice in that light, with the bricks in good light, a well composed shot, so that it doesn't look "abandoned", are they really going to destroy this? I can imagine the kind of building to be built here and I remember now a Joni Mitchell song "Parking Lot". Regards, Daniel

This is a very attractive photo of a very simple scene, relying on the texture and colour of red bricks and the drooping foliage and white papery trunk of the birch trees. Almost, ALMOST, over-sharpened, but not quite. Pity the composition doesn't include the whole of the tree's trunk and right branch. The range of colours and textures, though, make this a good pic.

Andrew

Wonderful composition, my friend... Also wonderful light, details, texture of the wall and point of view... The shadow of the tree on the wall and windows is perfect... And very interesting door...

Hi Pranab,
Beautiful capture of this facade.
I like the inclusion of the tree on the right side of the composition it creates a nice natural frame to the building.
The definition of the bricks on the walll is just perfect.

Hi Pranab, it´s nice to see your work.
Not just because of the composition, which is great by the way, but because I agree entirely with what you said in your note. It´s a pitty that it happens and it happens all around the world. Specially in big cities like the one I live in.
I´m also a fan of exposed brick constructions. This one is very charming, and the capture of the light together with the excellent POV gives it a nostalgic effect. Well done!

Hi Pranab,
Very interesting composition with the tree to take a dominant position!
And I agree... brick walls are fascinating, just to study the patterns and see the result of the work done often many decades ago...
Good colours and details, nice job my friend!

Hi Pranab.
Very good colour and also good composition.
But I think that is oversharpened.
Anyway, thanks for share.

Hi Pranab
Ineresting capture of detail, light, colour and shadow. I like the crispness of the shot and the detail in the abandoned building. Good details.

Pranab, One of my favorite things besides photography is architecture! I love old buildings and how daily life weather's away structures. It's a shame this will be lost! Thanks for posting this shot. It's well framed and composed! Cheers. Ross

Very good photograph, Pranab. I like this sort of solitude. Planning to visit Ravangla during Pujs. In search of solitude.

Indeed, a very fine photo of this neglected building. Very nice texture and peaceful mood given by the tree.
