Mt Lassen and Lake Almanor, a photo from California, West

Photographer's Note

This is view of Mount Lassen from Lake Almanor. Really clean blue water and very nice place for water activities (as you see in the photo). The lake is very close of Lassen Volcanic National Park {(~30mile). Though the place is very sunny and right now it is summer in northern california, but you can see lot of snow on Mt. Lassen.

that is what amazed me in there. I was vacationing in California last week in Lake Tahoe and the I used the rope way to climbed the mountains to an altitude of 11,000 feet. It was hot and sweaty and I actually walked on the snow that was still left on the ground. Apparently, the ground temperature must be cool enough to slowly melt the snow.

Great colors and DOF, the trees and mountains had behind given a special touch. Nice shot.

I like the way you've framed the photo with the snow covered mountain behind Speedy action on the lake.
