Burney Falls is at MacArthur-Burney Memorial State Park and is within the "Cascade Range and Modoc Plateau natural region, with forest and five miles of streamside and lake shoreline, including a portion of Lake Britton."(http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=455)
The falls are 129 ft. tall and flow from springs and a river above it. It was created from volcanic activity and from weather and erosion from streams.
The park is about 6 miles from the northern California town of Redding and is forested all around. Easy to reach on trails with a foot path along the stream this is a great place to go for camping or day picnicking or hiking.
This view is taken from the footpath. I took a few photos closer to the falls but I like this one best.

Attractive angle view of Burney Falls, the long exposure creates a milky white flow as it cascades into the pool, with the green plant life adding softness.

your choice of shutter speed suits the subject very well turning all the cascading water into ribbons of cotton wool,an awesome sight very well captured,I think the foliage in the FG helps to give a good depth to the image.
Warm regards Les.

I have had this discussion with PhotoRay before, but parts of California remind me so much of my own country, especially the East Coast. I suppose man millions of years ago, they were joined. This is a stunning shot, you timed the shutter perfectly and I love the way the cascading water dominates the scene, giving us a wonderful sense of dynamism and the power of water.
Wonderful shot, thanks for sharing

I'm so jealous, we don't even have one in the Southern Nevada area! With severe drought in California I'm surprise that this falls have plenty of water. Nicely captured with good details. Well done, tfs.

Ab excellent photo of these falls using the slow shutter speed.
In Iceland, similar falls exist where the water flows out of a lava field . See Hraunfossar for photos.
